Wess Johnson is een Amerikaanse zanger geboren in in North-Carolina.
Hij verhuisde naar Italië en leerde daar Dori Ghezzi kennen waarmee hij een succesvol zangduo zou vormen.
In 1973 namen ze deel aan het San Remo Festival met Tu nella mia vita, ze haalden niet de top 3 maar verkochten wel de meeste platen van alle kandidaten dat jaar. Met Voglio stare con te, Noi due per sempre stelden ze hun populariteit veilig.
In 1974 won het duo de laatste editie van Canzonissima met Un corpo e un'anima, een compositie mede geschreven door Umberto Tozzi.
Ze vertegenwoordigden Italië op het Eurovisiesongfestival 1975 in Stockholm met het lied Era, ze werden knap 3de.
Het succesverhaal liep verder in 1976 toen ze 2de werden in San Remo met Come stai? Con chi sei?. Ze bleven op televisie komen en namen albums op in Italië en in het buitenland.
Dori Ghezzi (Lentate sul Seveso, 30 maart 1946) is een Italiaanse zangeres. In 1989 trouwde ze met Italiaanse singer-songwriter Fabrizio De André die 10 jaar later aan kanker overleed.
In het begin van de jaren 70 startte ze een solocarrière met liedjes als Quello là, Vivere per vivere en Occhi a mandorla. Dan leerde ze Wess kennen en met hem zou ze grote successen beleven.

I was born in Rome, Italy; into a musical family. In the 1960's, my father left America to travel the world and pursue his career as a musician. My father, Wess Johnson, started as a bass player and by the 1970's became a famous solo singer in Europe, selling over 10 million records throughout his career. I have been surrounded by music all my life. Soul music was my main influence; at home we used to listen to listen to artists like Steve Wonder, James Brown, Aretha Franklin etc. I started DJing by the age of 15 and because of my musical roots, today my selection varies from soul-gospel to electro funk deep house music. After years of work experience in clubs, such as Alien (Rome), Gatto e la volpe (Bologna), Fix Carraldo (Arezzo), Cocorico (Rimini), Maddalena (Perugia) etc. I played for the first time in Europe, Zurich, in 1993 together with DJs such as Stefano di Carlo, Claudio Coccoluto and Eric Morillo. In the year 2000, I moved to London and DJed for the European tour of my sister, Romina Johnson (massive hit "Movin' Too Fast"). Since moving to London, I have been a resident DJ for the "Conservatory," and played for many different clubs such as: Attica, Cafe' de Paris, Ministry of Sound, Red Star, Core, Superego, Aka, main set for the Vodka Cruiser 2002, launch party at the Puzzle Club in Valencia, Ibiza and Barcelona. At the moment I am embarking on a new career as a house music producer and currently working with Romina and Wess Johnson, Barbara Tucker (remix) and new talented vocalists. Romina and I own our production company, J&J Music Production, which features house-soul-hip-hop-funk-R&B music.
