Sin with Sebastian

Sin with Sebastian

Is Sin With Sebastian just one song artist? This will show the future. Sin With Sebastian is Sebastian Roth. "Shut Up And Sleep With Me, Come On, Why Don't You Sleep With Me", this quite explicit proposition origins from his debut single: "Shut Up And Sleep With Me", released in the middle of 1995. Sebastian is a German artists, but he is a quite cosmopolitan guy. He travels between Germany, England and France. Professionally he is a photograph and camera man. His friends from English group Pet Shop Boys persuaded him to try the music career.

His cerrer was not easy one. He did some music acts (e.g. as a Two And A Dog duo with a female singer and later as Just Married in duo with another male singer). These professional "relationships" were frustrating for Sin With Sebastian, so he ended them up.and started his solo act. He moved to London after completion his design studies. The beginning was hard. He took a job in a small theatre in West End and was making music when time permitted. In one of the London-based professional recording studios on time borrowed by his friend he recorded several songs, among them "Shut Up Sleep With Me" . It took roughly 3 years before this particular track became a hit and brought him to a dance scene.

His debut album Golden Boy was recorded and mixed at Boogie Park Studios (Germany) in October of 1995 and released in December of 1995. In the title song: "Golden Boy", Sebastian sings: "Golden boy, born to love and live for of joy, I am golden boy". In this single he shortly describes his life so far and his lifestyle. He hates working but he loves fun and partying. He is special and the best. Can't you tell he is modest?

Here is what review from Logic Records say about him and his first single:

Sin With Sebastian is "the sort of boy mummy always warned you about", says Melody Maker magazine in reference to his flamboyant single release, "Shut Up (And Sleep With Me)". Sebastian's "femme" mystique is clad in pink fur and partnered with a Barbie doll -- he mixes a little drag and a little club kid to create a look that's all Sebastian!

Some agree that "Shut Up (And Sleep With Me)" is influenced by the Pet Shop Boys and Jimmy Sommerville, others hear echoes of "I'm Too Sexy" and "Tainted Love". Comparisons aside, Sebastian and his very convincing spoken-word-to-the-electric-beat, is a fresh, completely entertaining, extremely unique "golden boy"... these qualities will take "Shut Up" beyond the club and to the mainstream. This could launch another sexual revolution! You won't take "no" for an answer after listening to this song! Accompanied by an engulfing, operatic chorus sung by the blonde bombshell Donna Lynn Bowers, "You are young, you're free, why don't you sleep with me?", Sebastian's creation is a fur-clad classic, and a monument for the outrageous flair and playfulness of the gay 90s.
