Silk

Silk

Sexy R&B crooners Silk formed in Atlanta in the early '90s and were discovered by Keith Sweat, who signed them to his Keia label. The group broke onto the national scene when their 1992 debut, Lose Control, produced by Sweat, hit No.1 on the R&B charts. The album contained three Top 10 R&B singles, including the sexually suggestive mega-hit "Freak Me."

The group -- Jonathan Rasboro (John John), Timothy Cameron (Timzo), Jimmy Gates, Jr. (Jimmy), Gary Glenn (Big G) and Gary Jenkins (Lil' G) -- moved to Elektra Records and recorded a self-titled CD in 1995. After a four-year hiatus, Silk returned in 1999 with their latest effort, Tonight, released on Elektra.
