Shanice Wilson proved herself to be a natural entertainer at an early age. Growing up in Los Angeles, the young singer had appeared in several musicals and television commercials before being cast in the popular children's program "Kids Incorporated" at the age of 10. An appearance on "Star Search" in 1984 led to a record deal with A&M and Shanice released her debut album, Discovery, in 1987. Scoring two high-charting hits with "(Baby Tell Me) Can You Dance" and "No 1/2 Steppin'," the young singer moved to Motown Records and released her follow-up album, Inner Child, in 1991. The record spawned the international hit "I Love Your Smile," which earned Shanice a Grammy nomination, as well as "I'm Cryin'" and "Lovin' You." |
