Petey Pablo

Petey Pablo

Moses Barrett III, September 10, 1979, Greenville,

Moses Barrett III (born September 10, 1979, in Greenville, North Carolina), known by the stage name Petey Pablo, is an American Southern hip hop artist.

Often thought of as the "Godfather of Crunk", Pablo is an associate of record producer Timbaland, who had hoped to sign the rapper to his Beat Club label, but by the time he was ready to begin negotiations, Pablo had already signed with Jive Records. He made his first professional recordings in 2001: a number of album tracks for the second Timbaland & Magoo album Indecent Proposal, which was delayed for release by Blackground Records until late 2001, after Pablo had already become a success on his own.
Pablo's first solo single was the Timbaland-produced "Raise Up", notable for its 'black' rhythm track and Pablo's frantic verses. A follow-up single, "I", featured a guest rap from Timbaland, and was a less urban sound. These two singles were included on Pablo's first album, Diary Of A Sinner: 1st Entry, released by Jive in 2001. The following year, he appeared on the song "Club Banger" from the Drumline soundtrack.
In 2004, Pablo released his second album, Still Writing In My Diary: 2nd Entry, which included the Lil Jon-produced hit single "Freek-a-Leek". He was also featured on Ciara's #1 single, "Goodies".
In 2005 Pablo signed to Death Row Records. His new album Proper Procedures is expected to be released in 2007.
Recently Pablo has spoke about his frustration with Jive Records, being that they are hesitant about sharing an album with Death Row.[citation needed]
There are rumors saying that he has recently left Death Row Records, but Pablo has yet to confirm this. The record company has negated these rumors by revealing that they will release a promotional EP in support of Proper Procedures . East coast rapper Henry Brown is supposedly a victim of several lyrical attacks on this EP where Pablo claims that Henry "likes dudes" and is a "pansy biter". The accusations against Brown are likely unfounded, as no other accusations of homosexuality have been made prior. Brown has responded by saying that Pablo is only being homophobic, and is likely attempting to suppress homo-erotic tendencies of his own.[citation needed] up-and-coming rapper Piff of Saint Louis has also been a victim of lyrical attacks from Pablo.
His recorded album "Same Eyez On Me" that was made while Petey was with Death Row Records in 2005 is rumored to be readying for release on www.forthepeopleent.com. The album features guest appearances from Kurupt, Eastwood, and 2pac.
Petey Pablo is now in the studio with Aaron Carter, after Aaron produced songs for Petey ( show on the reality tv show House Of Carters ) Petey is now set to make Aaron Carter break into the music business once again.
