Karin Kent

Karin Kent was de artiestennaam van de Amsterdamse zangeres Janneke Kanteman.

Nadat zij enige tijd had gezongen in de Flying Tigers ging Kent in 1966 op de solo-toer. Ze had al enkele singles (zonder veel succes) op haar naam staan, toen ze op het Knokke festival het liedje Dans Je De Hele Nacht Met Mij? zong, een bewerking van een nummer van Burt Bacharach en Hal David.

Kent probeerde daarna door te breken met Engelstalig repertoire, maar had daarmee niet veel succes. Het carnavalsliedje Jelle Sal Wel Sien, met een tekst verwijzend naar toenmalig minister van financi�n Jelle Zijlstra was in 1967 haar laatste wapenfeit in de muziek. Ook een come-back in 1975 mislukte.
