Anneke Soetaert (07 november 1947) is een Vlaamse zangeres die in 1963 de 'Ontdek de Ster'wedstrijd wint met het nummer "Knock on your door". Vier jaar later neemt ze deel aan de Belgische selectie voor het Eurovisie Songfestival, 'Canzonissima' (de voorloper van onze huidige 'Eurosong'). Ze neemt o.a. deel met "Rio de Janeiro", maar haalt met dit nummer de finale niet. Een ander nummer van haar "Verlangen" moet het in de finale afleggen tegen "Ik heb zorgen" van wijlen Louis Neefs. Na haar deelname volgen nog een aantal singles zoals "Ciao adieu bye bye", "Ik verlang naar jou", "Johnny boy" en "Blue beat". In 1970 zegt ze haar vaderland vaarwel en verhuist met haar Amerikaanse vriend Scot Bradford naar de Verenigde Staten. |
