They are four stage personalities who originate from the swamps of the Rhine-Delta and play music associated with hot steaming dancefloors, swamps and homemade whiskey. Captain Gumbo is a band with a swingin' repertoire of Cajun and Zydeco.

Since the release of their debute cd 1 More 2-Step in 1990 Captain Gumbo has become a respected name at many venues. The Top 40 hit 'Allons A Lafayette' got them shows both national and international.

Besides Europe Captain Gumbo also toured the southern US state Louisiana, home of cajun and zydeco. 

The band appeared on stage in Breaux Bridge, Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Here they visited their heroes Eddie Lejeune, D.L. Menard and Boozoo Chavis and shared the stage with  Steve Riley & His Mamou Playboys.

Their latest cd Gumbo 5  proves once again that the Godfathers Of dutch Cajun & Zydeco know how to play high quality party music !
