The R&B vocal group Allure -- composed of Alia Davis, Lalisha McLean, Linnie Belcher and Akissa Mendez -- formed in New York in the early 1990s and signed to Mariah Carey's Crave label in 1996, releasing their debut single "Head Over Heels" the following April. Thanks to a guest appearance by Nas, the single was a hit, leading to an eponymous debut album later in the year featuring Nas, L.L. Cool J, and Q-Tip, among others. |
