Marsha Raven got her way into show business as a Tina Turner imitator. She debuted as a recording artist with the single I Like Plastic on Red Bus but her claim to fame came with Catch Me (I'm Falling In Love) on Passion Records, produced by hot shot dance producer Ian Anthony Stephens, and it duly gave her a massive club hit. With a second single False Alarm doing less, she moved to Record Shack, London's groundbreaking Hi-NRG label, to release her self-penned Dr. DJ and team with another hot shot producer Ian Levine for Stranger in Disguise, still without repeating the momentum of "Catch Me". Her final single release was That Jealous Sensation, released on Levine's Nightmare Records 1987, a song which gave her a big Hi-NRG hit before she drifted into obscurity. |
