Alias

1988 – Los Angeles CA

Group Members:

Steve DeMarchi, Freddy Curci, Roger Fisher, Steve Fossen, Michael Derosier

Singer and guitarist Steve DeMarchi and lead singer Freddy Curci, both former members of the deceased band Sheriff, pulled together near the middle of the '80s to write and record over four dozen demo songs. In 1989, guitarist Roger Fisher, bassist Steve Fossen, and drummer Michael Derosier, all former members of the hit group Heart, joined up with Curci and DeMarchi to from a new, short-lived rock band called Alias.

In 1990, Alias released its first album, a self-titled debut recorded under the Capitol Records label. "After All the Love Is Gone," "Waiting for Love," "Standing in the Darkness," "Free Emotion," and "One More Chance" are some of the pop/rock tunes showcased on the album. The superb debut was a hit in the United States, going gold quickly. The album's success soon crossed the border to Canada, where it reached platinum. Tracks from the debut offering hit the charts in both countries, climbing effortlessly into the top five. Huge tours followed for the group. Impressive reviews floated about and fans had dreams of many more albums, but only a short year after its first release, Alias fell apart. Rumors of the members rejoining and of some new recordings circulated for a while, but never came true.
