Frank Galan

Frank Galan

It all started during the Soundmixshow in 1994, where he perfectly interpreted Julio Iglesias. The public fell for the sensual sound of Frank Galan. With the assistance of several managers, as well as promotional channels, he broke through all the Belgian barriers. With the ambition to be a world artist, Frank Galan chose, with great determination, for an international career.

Today in 2004 he has succeeded to be in the spotlight in five countries, partially due to his record company Sony Music. His first success happened in The Netherlands (1996) when Frank Galan had 2 songs in the Dutch Top 20 : "El Bandido" and "Maria, Reina del Mar". After a gigantic year of promotions, performances and success it then became Belgiums turn. Radio 2 heard of Frank Galan’s success in the Netherlands and Frank was extensively interviewed in the Radio 2 programm Hitwinkel (Hitshop).

The age old question kept being asked if Frank would record in Dutch or Spanish, but Spanish was in Frank’s heart and soul and a decision was made to record Latino music. Spanish music with a high Julio Iglesias influence. With this choice Frank Galan was quickly noticed at home and in other countries. His duet with Sandra Kim (Eurovision winner 1986) became the breakthrough. The hitsingle "Door Veel Van Mij Te Houden" (By Loving Me A Lot) remained at number 1 for 6 weeks in all the hit lists in Belgium. This meant 48 performances in the greatest Belgian TV show " 10 om te Zien" (1O to be seen), an array of performances and great interest shown from radio stations.

Following his success, a Spanish version was released in other countries. Dutch TV company TROS made a TV special, on one of the biggest cruise ships in the world "The Enchantment of The Seas". This cruise left from Great Britain, onto Iceland, Canada and Boston. During the cruise, the brand new CD "Alegria" was recorded and broadcasted on Dutch TV. Large concerts followed in Forest National, Sportpalace together with national and international names as Demis Roussos, Johnny Logan, James Last, Will Tura, Dana Winner, Lee Towers, etc. Frank Galan was also able to enjoy meeting Julio Iglesias, Shakira and The Gipsy Kings. In short Frank Galan is ready set for an international career, however this does involve incredible organisation including: management, marketing, international campaigns, and last but not least investments. In total Frank Galan has released 9 full albums in 10 years time, with a great variety of songs. Spanish, as well as Dutch and German songs were recorded. Also plans are established for English and French recordings in the near future.

During his performances Frank Galan presents his répertoire in five languages. His music is a mix between romance and passion, with a touch of Spanish charm. Frank Galan loves the right mood and emotion. He performs each song as they should be performed. In 2004 Frank Galan is known as the Latino performer "par excellence", as he’s the first in Belgium who started singing in Spanish. Since then other collegues have followed such as Belle Perez, Helmut Lotti, Axelle Red.
